Lots of French campsites have tha same hook up as here, now, but you probably won't get hook up on the France Passion sites

Get the continental hook up adaptor

and a socket tester to check wether the electric supply is reverse polarity

I keep a made up short cable with male and female ends with the polarity reversed at one end just in case. You may not need it but always best to have one just in case. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Euro-Continental- ... 51903271f9" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The hook up adaptor can be bought at Halfords or any caravan/camping shop. The socket tester from b&q, screwfix etc

95% of the time your normal lead is just fine.....on the odd occasion you may need the continental adapter (top pic on previous post) Also* many of the outlets are lower amperage than ours in the UK (10 usually but sometimes just 6 amps) limitting your to gadgets to a total power of just over
1400 watts, which rules out the use of things like blow heaters (2000watts) and some hair dryers (often over 1500watts)...

Where are you planning on heading?

If you use the search facility you will find details of 8090ers previous exploits in France and of course some good ideas.

Don't forget your Aires book :D plenty of low cost/free camping spots in it.
