Two options, but no, need to make some phonecalls, 1st is quite near the CAT above Machnylleth (?)
Basically, will just need to get to Machxxxxxx and a few miles further up into Snowdonia, allow for that and all will be well...

It's definitely the first weekend in October, details will be released as soon as a suitable campsite has been located and booked (if necessary).
The lanes are located, roughly, within the triangle Llangollen, Portmadoc and Aberystwyth and range from the scenic through to challenging!

Scenic is pretty good around there.
Does anyone want a morning or afternoon at CAT? Veggie food there is excellent (IMHO), not 'that' impressed with all the exhibits, though if you haven't been before, many would find worth the time.

I'm interested in CAT (and veggie food ) but will happily do something else.

We would have to pay to get into CAT first, but I'm told there is a CAT veggie restaurant in Machnylleth... if we don't want to visit as a Group
For keen bird watchers, raptors are abundant so binocs, tripods and tele lenses ?

There's no reason why those 'up norf' can't organise an event see..viewtopic.php?f=4&t=71400.
We have three or four 'official' Syncronaut events during the year - loosely, a Spring meet, then Syncropendance (first weekend in July) which is mid-Wales, a Devon weekend which is expanding into a week, and an Autumn meet which this year is North Wales.
They tend to be areas that are readily accessible to those who are organising the event - finding a campsite or 'pay and play site, reccing lanes etc.

liase with Rob, Slobbo, he's on the case for a scottish event, was proposed for this year but too late in the day to happen and it clashed with Devon which was already sorted
there was no Spring event this year because of Syncro25 which we knew would be a big cost for a lot of people
Anyone can organise an event or invite peeps along to another event that's already planned, as happens with SimonTMT and his local club and last year Neil arranged the Salisbury Plain event off his own back. KevH was a major factor in the Northern events we've had, Coast to Coast, Dales, Northumberland etc.. and is sorely missed
There is no insurance issue for green laning as that's on the public highway, but pay and play sites are a different matter and as a club we are limited in what we can offer within the terms of our MSA membership/insurance and there is a cost and work involved in submitting plans for each event for that too
AGM hopefully online at end of October and lets see if the new members and lurkers come forward with some fresh ideas etc... otherwise it's the usual suspects organising and attending events, so some element of sticking to what you know works and is enjoyed by those who attend will obviously occur
There were a few events arranged in the West Country under the aegis of Syncrospares, but those haven't happened for a while as they've been busy with work and a move of premisies, but I spoke with Jon earlier today and he's hoping to raise their presence again online and in the flesh - but note they aren't trading at VF this year, neither am I, nor I think are SyncroNutz
It seems though that the majority of syncro owners don't want to play, or at least not with the rest of us, don't know why that is but each to their own; but then if it wasn't for this club and forum the value of their vans wouldn't be going up as much I think.
Next year there is a major trip planned for the Picos that many seem interested in so that will likely impact on what people can afford or want to commit to. There are also a few discussions going on about a trip to S. France/Pyrenees too with possible hook up with the French Syncro Club and some others may head to N Africa I believe.
Oh and of course the reason we go to Wales is to p off M0cki, not because it's still available, ace and many of us love it
