It runs of the battery, but when on hook up your battery should be on charge. When on hook up why waste your gas, why not use an electric heater?

I have an Eber which runs off petrol. But I have heard a Propex isn't very economical to run off of bottle but better suited to an under slung gas tank.

I'm sure someone with a Propex will be along soon to give you a bit more info.

They drink gas like its going out of fasion, my small bottle 907 will be gone in under 20hours use of the propex.

Obviously works out a lot cheaper if you have an underslung tank or a gaslow bottle

My leisure doesn't charge from the EHU (I don't think it does anyway).
I use a small oil filled rad. Then use the propex for a quick 'blast' every now and then. It doesn't take much to warm up - even in Freezing February.
Without EHU, then it's just the Propex - again, just an occasional blast to take the edge off. This time of year, not much heat needed at all.
There are other old threads about this on here - use the search button ^^. As far as using much gas, I don't seem to. Goes without saying that it depends how much you use it! Like A KIRK says,a 907 bottle will go in 20 hours, but if I use the heater for 1 hour per night I would be surprised - even in winter.

If you are on camping gaz, it's a bit more expensive, so consider changing to Calor (Propane or Butane) if you are. I use Propane coz it works ok in freezing temperatures, as I like to get away during the winter months.
Happy Camping! :ok

They dont at all its just 907 bottles are stupid small!

These are the specs for the HS2000 propex (the blue un)

HS2000
Average consumption = 142 grams/hour
3.9kg propane cylinder = 27.5 hours
4.5kg butane = 31.7 hours
13kg propane = 91.5 hours
15kg butane = 105.6 hours
19kg butane = 133.8 hours
47kg butane = 331.0 hours
904 Camping gaz (1.81kg) = 12.75 hours
907 Camping gaz (2.72kg) = 19.0 hours

i had mine going two days solid running off a stat, plus another weekend away with it running overnight. Also using hob and fridge for three weekends. Just filled up my underslung tank, it only cost £2.60 to refill meaning i used about four and a half litres of gas. I think that works out pretty cheap

Use my hs2000 off a 7.5kg propane cylinder. It lasts ages and gets v warm in a short time. Underslung tank use sounds v cheap though. I don't think I could leave it on constant as the van gets too warm. A good heater and propex have great customer service. :ok
