Running in, tuning and rolling roads

My recently rebuilt engine (stock 2 litre CU except for a slightly torquier cam and solid lifters - Laurie Petit did the work) has now done about 2500 miles and seems to be doing very well, pulling nicely and so on. MPG is only around 18ish, tho. I know this is not too far off what many people expect but I got around 22 before the rebuild so I suspect it could do with a proper tune up. I'm happy it's probably running a bit rich during the running in period but how long do you need to run in?

Has any one got any views on the justification for a rolling road session as opposed to a normal garage tuneup? How much might it be and is it worth it? Any ones in the NW of England that you have experience of? I know Raceshack in Tewkesbury are good but it's a bit far from here!
Thanks,

Yes I might just do that! But I want to get it running properly on liquid gold first!

If its the same as water cooled timing is slightly different for LPG anyway. there is a trade off between timing for petrol and LPG.

keith imho its prolly run in (rings seated)etc after about 20 miles or so did you get oil press b4 turning it over and then break the cam in ??
a rolling road will get the fueling bob on thruout the rev range and costs about 50-70 quid money well spent imho after xxxx amount on a rebild even the best tuners carnt match the acuracey of the info gained from a roling road session 8)

Run in?

Yes, I got oil pressure up before starting it - and ran the cam in for 20 mins at highish revs like Laurie told me so it should be ok.
So what are the rolling road guys going to be adjusting to get the performance so optimised? Timing and mixture I'm guessing....
