Not a master of the dark arts (aka a sparky

) but if oneGSF sender was faulty perhaps the whole batch was. The dalek caps are all iffy.

the switch should pass a current until 60 deg C
that's when it turns off the heaters (Carb choke and manifold)
the relay (No.1) is found in the junction box, in the engine bay (left bulkhead)
As an aside here, I have just set up a manual switch as I too suffered with no heater.
With the syncro thermostat housing that came with the new engine, I can't fit the proper push in with a clip thermo switch.
unless I get off my ars* and fit the proper housing

have you checked the continuity across the switch?
i.e. does it pass a current when cold?

there should be..
either it's the switch or the connectors
have you a curcuit tester, like one that beeps, when you check a switch across it's unconnected terminals?
