does any one know if the above starter was fitted to anything else in the vw range Ithink maybe mk2 golf petrols?
or anyone got a spare?

Certainly different to MkII Golf/Jetta/Scirocco 1.6/1.8 petrol/injection.

cheers ian saves me hunting through the scrappers on the farm. looks like a newy then the copper cables have corroded through on the armature plate as some hoon attacked the rubber gromit in the past. yeeehaa
