guess the connection..

Hi, still getting to grips with my T25 and today I decided to follow a diy dash-mounted switch that didn't appear to do anything only to find it lead to something around the front radiator. Not sure whats going on and thought someone technical might explain what I'm looking at... my guess is based on radiator temperature sender? but my temp guage reads just above middle with switch on or off. The ends you see (male+female) were not connected when we tok the grill off.... any ideas?

That is the radiator thermo switch, which basically brings on the fan in two stages depending on temperature.
The fan doesn't usually function until temperature reaches approximately 2/3rds on the gauge and thats typically in standing traffic with the engine running (traffic jam lol)
I'm guessing someone decided to carry out an 'over-ride' modification so they could turn the fan on manually.

so unless that switch turns on the fan... you will over heat
