Good clean up, vactan (where needed) and waxoyl I think. Don't like underseal as it looks ugly and tends to trap rot underneath until its too late.

it's ok i was asking what peoples preferences were, i know about google search.
frost do good stuff but it's pricey. i think i will just use waxoyl on everything.
i wanted feedback on whether you prefer to
a. underseal the old fashioned way with bitumen based or ..
b. waxoyl
what you put on separate parts such as engine components to revitalise them, suspension parts etc.

If you're after some Splitty-styleee show van that never turns a wheel from one show to the other and travels on a trailer behind a Discovery then you can repaint and polish any number of the running gear and engine bay components.
If however you're wanting to actually use the van SAFELY then the only substitute for worn, rusty or broken parts is new (where available .. and the best you can afford) or known good pre-used parts from a seller you can trust ... like the members on here where they have a reputation to protect, NOT the sellers with 1 post who come and go.
There's the truth for you.
Hey look I got 8090 posts

Waxyol underseal
Hammerite smooth black satin (not gloss) for suspension parts / running gear

I have used this
KBS RUSTSEAL

Its far better tham Hammerite
Just dont get it on your skin unless you want to look like a person from the Minstrel show.
