Khyam awnings

Evening

I'm looking for an awning for the westy. Hearsay tells me that Khyam awnings are the ones to go for - but i wondered if any of you had any feedback on these, whether they're worth the extra, if you're happy and the like. Or if you're happy with your non-Khyam!

Many thanks in advance

We've just bought the Motordome Sleeper as we needed the extra room and it will be well used at the weekends. We spent alot of time looking for what was right for us. One thing to point out though is that they don't come with ground sheets, you have to buy those separately so take that into account. We have a large ground sheet anyway which does us fine. If you look at the Khyam website there are videos on there which show you how to put the tents up so thats a big help too.

Good luck in your search

I have the motordome classic and love it. Easy to put up on my own and withstood some major winds in Cornwall last year.

check this:

Is that the classic? I thought the classic had easy erect poles?

nope it's not the Classic, it's something new but looks pretty good and a very good price given it comes with a 4 person inner etc.

Well, thank you for your replies.

I bit the bullet and purchased a Motordome Classic. Didn't manage to get away this weekend to try it out - good that the 'figure of eight' gutter rail fixing is included.

If it's brand new you'll want to be putting it up in the garden (pardon the expression  ) and giving it a soaking with the old hose ... the seams will leak the first time it gets wet but from then on it's waterproof.
