Side Panel Thingy Ideas

Whilst rubbin' me belly against the van yesterday, it struck me that it might be possible to modify the side cover panel thingy (the thing wot covers the slider hinge mechanism, only it doesn't 'cos it's on the opposite side to the slider unless you have a twin slider 
) to hinge up and cover items such as 240v hookup, remote jump lead sockets etc. Now it would look very neat if this were possible, reducing the number of hatches/plugs/fillers on the side of the van, but there could be a perfectly good reason not to do it apart from: 1. you'd have to move things and fill in holes, 2. it can't be done 'cos......, 3. you can't be arsed, 4. you'd rather drink beer than waste your time doing it. Has anyone done it or thought of doing it or seen it done? I just thought that it might be worth a short discussion.
