Irish syncro event

After being inspired by 25 we are definately on for organising an irish week long syncro event about the middle or the end of august (for those with kids they will still be on holiday, we thought of you, so you have no excuse!). This would also give people enough time to get cheapish ferries, mid week ones are usually cheaper about 79 euros each way at the moment. Myself and andrew have our eyes on a newly opened 350 acre site which will check out next weekend

if not possible, have a few other ideas for offroading venues would also combine with a camping tour of the west and possibly some greenlaning if we can find some. Any interest guys

Yes, but, our standards are quite high now especially after being spoilt by the German facilities...

Well, I had considered going back to the old home land to see the relatives up in Co Tyrone (and do some wild camping up in Malin Head)....but I don't know if we can afford it this year, or whether I could get the time off work, as we've already booked the family hol in June.
But an annual Irish Syncro event would be a very good idea....and i like the idea of combing it with a longer holiday in August

I'd be interested as it would also give me a legitimate* chance to climb a few of your southern mountains, for my Mountain Leader log book. Might have to be next year - we'll see if the 'velle is properly sick or just a bit poorly (live in hope)
*When I say legit, I do of course mean that one justifies the other...

I love the idea of this 'Irish Syncro Event'. Who is organising it?

Sounds like a good idea but August is full of VW Shows.
I'd love to come but with organising/working at RTTH wouldn't be possible.

Is that before or after the asparagus and cranberry juice?

We don't have Southern mountains, only hills and they're not exclusive to the South!

Well planning a trip to Ireland in August already for Eireball (2nd week) so if you get your aaarrrse in gear maybe I could combine the two

Failing that I will have to eat all the fresh bread rolls, leave you with no tabacco and mess up your boxes even more next time
Will be watching this space . . . . .

Sounds fab, but I'll have to pass on this as have booked out my holiday entitlement for this year. Hopefully I will be in Ireland over Christmas and New Year, on a camper touring and walking holiday, so ideas of where to camp, walk and do some picturesque light laning would be appreciated. PM me please rather than hijacking this thread.
