Hi All,

Recently purchased a 1987 T25 Devon Moonraker Hightop which I am loving but urgently want to do a few touchups to the paint (it does not warrent a full roller jobjust yet :D ). I have looked in the places described in the forum to find the paint codes but they have long gone

Could it be Mocha Brown and Ivory? I would like to get the code right before shelling out on paint!

Thanks in advance Kev

Have a look under the passenger side seat, from behind (where leisure battery is), paint codes should be under there on a sticker.. If not I will go out in the rain and get mine for ya :ok

I had a look under the passenger seat but could find no sticker only a VIN type plate. I did not remove the battery to check underneath. Where abouts should the sticker be?

Next time its dry if you could have a look for me that would ge good (i'm not ordering the paint today anyway so stay out of the rain!)

Cheers for the codes (hope you didn't get wet!)

I found a link to another site with the different paint codes used for different years. It looks like they are different

http://www.gti16v.com/vwcc1979.htm#vwcc1979

Anyone else got a brown and cream T25 from 1987?

I had a look on the BrickYard which had some good info on paint codes but there seems to be a an error on the dates as there is nothing between 31.07.1986 and 01.08.1987 (mine is Feb 07 :? )

http://brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpecific ... colour.htm

I initially thought the codes were:
IVORY R10
MOCHA BROWN H8V

but now i'm thinking:

MERIAN BROWN A8A
IVORY 567

Anyone got a plan of how I can work out which I need? :idea

Cheers
Kev

If you look at the plate under the seat the middle row gives you the paint and trim. What is yours?

Do you mean the plate under the passenger seat?

I think it is:

9605KR 0HN 355

But I could be wring as its a bit dark and my torch is on the blink!

Yes the plate under the passenger seat
The middle row should read something like, T4D1 AW. Mocha brown/ivory paint, Brown interior. 9605 suggests special order colours.

Its a mystery!

The plate under the passenger seat has no reference to colours or codes as far as I can see. There are no stickers left between the pedals and the dash. The plate on the door pillar only seems to have information on vehicle weight etc.

My local paint place can match paint but I seem to have various shades all over the place

L86Z Agata Brown /Achat Braun

L567 Elfenbein (Ivory) - alternative code match system is Ral1014

Perfect match for my 1982 Devon Moonraker which looks an exact match to the photos of your van....

I have just done the wheels in Ivory and they look ....lovely !

cheers Matt, those wheels are looking good. Mine are ivory too but after seeing yours i think a respray could be in order :D

still not sure on the brown though as according to the page on the brickyard they did not do your brown in 86. The strange thing is there is rattle can that came with the van in agata brown.

Does anyone have a photo of a van in merian brown A8A?

Hi Matt,

I'm from St Austell (some people know it as St Awful! ). We are hopefully going to do lots of camping in Cornwall too (even though I live here!) We tested the van last bank holiday at St Ives Bay holiday park which was good.

I tried a bit of the L86Z Agata Brown rattle can that came with the van and it looks pretty close but it would be good if I could see some pictures of Merian Brown just incase its an even closer match. According to the page on the Brick Yard http://brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpecific ... colour.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it should be Merian Brown as it turns out mines an 86 not 87 but for all I know it might have been repainted in Agata Brown.

Cheers
Kev
