suspension best practice

1.6TD recon engine is having 5000 service and im going to make sure mineral oil is put in this time, Also want to get brakes checked and nearside hand top wishbone bush replaced as it squeeks.

I also think the front end is just a bit too bouncy now, although it doesn't bounce twice it does have a longer travel than I remember at first 4 years ago. I would like to change the front shock absorbers only. I Can I do that without doing the rear. Is it Ok to replace one bush at a time or should it be in pairs.

Lastly is there anything else that may as well be renewed during this work at low cost.

Yes I think you can replace both front shocks without doing the rears, doesn't look too hard and I will be doing it myself soon.

I think you should be doing the bushes as a pair, is there a reason you wouldn't? Is the one you intend to leave on that much better nick than the one you want to change?

IMHO pairs ONLY might afect steering geo and or breaking performance
you might considder a modification with shocks and springs diy or garage job but well worth it
