Hydraulic or Mechanical lifters

Emmmm

I adjusted me valve clearances to 0.006 today and then subsequently read in my Aircooled rebuild engine book that the use of a feeler guageis not required when setting valve clearances when you have hydraulic lifters

It also suggest that all you do when setting vavle clearances with hydraulic lifters is to wind in the middle screw until it just touches the valve stem and then turn the screw two full turns and then tighten the lock nut.

Right two questions:
Do I have hydralic lifters?
Should I follow the instructions in my second paragraph?

If I have hydralic lifters, it makes me shiver to think that my new head had 5mm of play between the whatseemecallit and the valve stem. This equates to about 10 full turns on each adjusting screw, taking in to account the two full turns that need to be made once the adjusting screw is resting on the valve head.

Serious damage me recons to the valves :x
