HI guys just had the vacuum advance unit replaced on my distributor. My Mechanic said the original one had broken as it couldn't move the distributor which had become stuck and stopped turning and he had to free it up with some lubricant.
Is this something i should be wary about do you think i need to do anything here like fit a repair kit such as the one Brickwerks supply. I've never really played around with the distributor apart from replacing the cap and rotor arm so a bit naive on this.

What were the symtoms? cheers, Tim

The little wadd of "felt" in the centre of the dizzy drive, under the rotor arm is supposed to have a couple of drops of light oil on it at every service.. this is supposed to keep the surfaces of the dizzy mech lubed.. I generally carefully squirt a little WD 40 onto the mech under the segmented rotor at each service..
