Solid tailgates (no windows) - pros and cons please

I may be fitting a solid tailgate (the ones with no rear window) to our Westy over the coming weeks and wondered if anyone had one with an opinion of living day to day with no rear window.
I appreciate you lose the rearward vision and light in through the rear - but aside from that are there any other disadvantages/advantages you can voice?
I would have thought it somewhat more safe (no rear window to view inside, one less window to break etc) but can a windowless 'gate be made more practical than one with glass fitted.
Possible advantages I thought of were:
1) Privacy
2) Security
3) Better insulation (another place you can insulate)
4) Storage (maybe you can attach things to it like a net for random objects)
5) Advertising space/design space. An ideal flat canvas for an ad/graphic design
6) No window to clean
Any other thoughts/experiences of one in use?
