G'day. Installed the plumbing for front/rear difflocks yesterday as I got a set of locking boxes. I find that the front locker and decoupler engage almost immediately whereas the rear locker takes some time if it engages at all. There's an annoying whistling noise coming from somewhere in the system but the odd thing is I'm having trouble identifying where. I suspect a leak in the system but unsure if this is a normal noise coming from the vacuum system? My questions is are the difflocks meant to operate completely silently?

there`s no noise from my system but i`ve not got a de-coupler. as i feel you suspect you have probally got a leak somewhere, probally in the rear actuator.
try disconnecting the vac pipes to the actual actuator and bolck them off somehow just to see if the noise goes. obviously the rear diff wont lock then but if the noise goes you`ll be closer to finding the problem.
i presume the plunger rod in to the box is free.
