Hi , I've got chance of a high ratio gearbox and trying to work out if the ratio will be a bit too high for a pop-top t25 camper , from what I've worked out from the overall gearing - and .70 top gear as an indication - it closely equates too 4.46 : 1 X .70 = 3.122 , the engine is a 110bhp tdi from a passat , would you think with this ratio I'll be fighting between 4th and 5th gear ?

any more backround available, are you going from a petrol engine to a diesel. and the ratios are making the diesel run at too high a speed?
remember that a hightop on anything but a motorway will only be going 50-60mph anyways. maybe depends on the roads you usually drive on.
