Subaru flywheel: Use or replace?

We get away with flywheels like this all the time on mail vans, but its always a difficult call on your own vehicle.

I would replace it or get it skimmed at a local rebuilders/engineering shop or is that not economical.

They only look to be minor surface cracks, it would not worry me at all and i have seen alot of flywheels.

i would use it! for two reasons, one i already have it so i don't have to pay for it and two i have no idea what it is/does so couldn't possibly know if it is a good one or not!! :lol:

if you want to replace at any time just let me know (i have loads of them)i can pass on to someone and get it across country via the vw network i should imagine :D

Needs surface grinding, to get it back to flatness... else it might slip :P

a lathe tool wouldn't even graze it I doubt.

I might have to take Scoobyvan up on his generous offer..... we'll see whether the clutch beds in in the next week.....
