Fuel tank difference

I understand that my 2.1 MV (injection engined) 89 westy needs the petrol tank with a swirl chamber.
How do I know it's the right one, the supplier says it's for T3 with 'INJECTION' and side by side the two look identical and I can't really see any difference inside either. What am I looking for?
Although it's a bit late now as the new one is painted lol.

Hi Martin
the correct part no. for your tank is 251-201-075 AH with built in swirl pot and 48mm filler pipe
the carb one is part no. 251-201-075 AE with built in 1 inch baffles and for plastic filler necks only, not for injection models
the early one has a 68mm filler neck up to 1986.

And that looks like?
Part numbers are useful only if you are buying a £350.00 VW tank.
Plonker!

Injection tanks have a larger fuel outlet hose.

Thanks Simon....it does have the larger fuel outlet and was listed 'for injection' so on that basis all looks fine
T3trooper....Eurocar parts because they were local and had one in stock otherwise I would have used Brickwerks.

Freshly painted, new breather pipes all round, fitted and running....
It also provided the opportunity for me to WaxOyl the underside..especially above the tank which hopefully I won't be seeing for several years now the tanks done.
Cheers.

One assumes you greased the handbrake cable and checked the clutch pipe

Indeed
Whilst the tank was off I greased all the pipes, hand brake and gear linkages, then waxoyled.
