Oil pssing onto the floor in Halford's car park. Smoking puddles in the engine bay, splashes everywhere.
cracked head? blown gaskets?
oh.
Oil filler neck had come off.

too right Albert - I was whistling a chirpy tune while I mopped it all up.
I mention it just in case anyone else is putting off sorting their wobbly filler neck like I was...

I thought I was the only one that dumped my sump in Halfords car park. Always go there and just open plug if I need to drain old stuff out - bowl a waste of time

I agree could have been worse
So where can we get oil filler necks from? the one on my diesel is towards the end!
