Rear Cluster Contact?

I noticed one of my fog lights was not working so I got a new bulb for it only to find out the little spring contact in the cluster was not present. Has anyone got any idea where I could find one of these? I tried using one out of my light board but it was too big, I will have to just solder if not.

Theres only normally one rear fog fitted on the T25 - hence the missing parts.

Sorry to hijack thread but I too would be interested to hear of any working bodges before my next MOT is due next month. My van is a 1983 model but an import so neither cluster has the contact. Was thinking along lines of getting a torch spring or something and soldering or crimping to the PCB track but wondered how others have done this short of buying a RHD cluster.

I've no idea what people have done for previous MOTs as the VOSA online database shows my van has failed on this a couple of times over the last few years. Maybe a clip on generic lamp unit with a loose wire across to the dash that they removed soon afterwards as I don't even have a switch fitted.

I've sourced an OEM switch to fit the dash and shouldn't have any problems wiring that up, just want to know about the bulb contact bit.

Should anyone else be in this situation, I've noticed that never mind a contact, neither cluster has a reflector in the fog lamp housing and only the nearside has the wire attached. I'm going to put a bit of silver tape inside the housing to help as a reflector but I doubt the MOT tester will notice this.

Small nut and bolt and a spring from a pen seems to be the general idea. You should be aware, though, that you need an illuminated switch too, or some other sort of visual indication in the dash that the foglight is on.

Cheers

I'll try that. Am sorted for the switch as I have the proper one to go in the dash pod next to the hazard switch.
