after intermittant temperature problems (occasionaly running hot, needle at the right side of the red light) I decide to replace thermostat in case it was sticking, on first start up a leak appeared when stat opened, so stripped down & refitted with another new o ring. no leaks this time but also no pressure in the system ( nothing coming out of bleed valve on radiator, return pipe from radiator stayed cool) noticed water pump very hot. So taken that of expecting it to be knackered, bt blades seem fine & spin freely.

Does this mean the pumps knackered or not :?: , any advice gratefully received before I go & spend £40 on a new pump.

also heard a lot of negatives about gsf, any coments on their water pumps?

possibly a blockage in the coolant system, rusty radiator maybe? flush the rad through with a hose forwards and backwards and see what comes out.
