I've taken the old one off, I'm gonna screw the new channel on and am in the process of cleaning up the cill. Near the front of the cill the surface rust has caused a couple of small holes. I've treated the metal with rust treatment but the holes will still be there. My question is. Do I have to cut it out and weld in a new piece or can i get weld the holes up. Ideally I don't want to have to hire a welder as money's tight at the moment so is there any other way of fixing this?

I'd be pop riveting the channel on and any patch covered liberaly with underseal

Didn't think of pop rivets, cheers Kev. I was gonna cover it with stone chip, but do you think underseal would be better.
Speaking of underseal, the underseal underneath the van has started to flake off so that's another job to do, but I haven't got a compressor and the only underseal I've found has to be fed through an air gun.

I've got a tin of underseal you can paint on with a brush, think its made by hammerite. Going to get some of that on this weekend, messy!
Anyway, you should be able to pick up a tin & brush from your local parts place.
Cheers,
Mark
