oil filler pipe

Hi if some one could help with info on removing the oil filler pipe on a 86 t25 . it's leaking but I can't work out how to get at the top nut ? there doesn't seem to be room to get any of my spanners or sockets in , any ideas ? cheers

Ive got a CU Aircooled and the engine def needs lifting or removing before you can get to that bolt

Quite sure as I am currently trying to remove my fan housing and its in the way. I might be able to take one bolt out and then loosen the other and twist it out of the way but I cant see how it can be removed.
I have to say that I am tempted to cut it off some way up the pipe and then fashion a fix later. With me this will be above the oil line so will not be so critical

good idea but mine are studs

so not an option unless I want to start trying to extract the bottom stud first.

IIRC this is a sod to get at with the engine carrier being in the way. A thin spanner can be used to tighted the outer one but the inner you need a shallow 13mm socket and wobbly knuckle adaptor etc to get at it. You may be better off supporting the engine, taking the mounting bar/carrier off and slightly inclining the engine to get to do the thing properly.

I managed to get the outer one off and the inner one loosened. If I think about it I recon it would have come right of but as for putting it back thats another issue

Ians right to remove and replace the carrier has to come off
if you don't want it to leak again torque it down to the correct value too

Not entirly
As mine is off now with a 13mm normal spanner
Dont know how I will get it back on though. My girlfreinds got smaller hands than so that will be her job

Horray it's off

with a normal spanner . it must have had a hard life ( rounded off ) so forced

a 12mm ring spanner on and it moved now got to inspect the pipe doesn't look great but can't seem to find any one selling new ones unless you know better ? thanks for the help

I'll be back
