To get at my oil cooler without removing the engine :D

But the fan housing is fouling on the oil dooacy, you know the solid steel tube that runs out of the engine block. I need about another 5mm but just cant get the bar steward out.

Right, if I remove the oil pipe will oil spill out from the block? . I do need to do an oil change anyway but would rather get on with this task. Hopefully if I can just remove it ill av me oil cooler out by lunchtime tomorrow.

Im taking photos as I go so I can bung the instructions in the wiki :D

Do you mean the dipstick tube or the filler tube? I had to take to dipstick tube out, but I don't remember taking out the filler tube.

No def the oil filler tube, its in the way. It would at least need one bolt taken out and rotated.

It doesnt matter, just need to know if I need to drain my oil before I remove it. Got 5 litres of new oil anyway

Cheers :ok

But all in all I can see the oil cooler nad recon I will be able to get to it

Yes, you'll need to drain the oil before removing the oil filler tube. But I'm not sure you can get the filler tube off with the engine in - if I remember correctly, the engine bearer prevents you getting to one of the nuts...

Crap

I have had a look and I might be able to take one off and loosen the other. I which case I might be able to twist the oil filler tube to give me a few more millimeters

Cheers
