I've removed the 45A alternator on my 1.96 dg engine to have it overhauled (bearings rough). There is a 3 din connector bolted on to the back of the unit but nothing plugs into it. I'm just wondering what it would be used for. Any ideas?

A lot of alternators where made as unversal fitting for either the three pin plug or post connections.
