How do I get the gunk out the slider?

Giving the van an overhaul and I wonder how to get all that gunk, dust muck etc out of the slider so I can start it all fresh and lovely.
Tried it with a cloth didnt work that well.

I used White spirit and a toothbrush and lots of perciverance

I used an oily rag, seemed to work ok. But it was the only method i tried, so can't say its better than any other

try a bit of brake/carb cleaner and a rag on the end of a screwdriver.

you know that side door on these vans well thats a slider..
