Electrical advice

Hi there,
I've a 1984 1.9 WC on which I seem to be having some trouble with the internal electrics and was hoping for some tips, please! The van already had a decent stereo in it when I bought it, with an amp in the back but the amp stopped working recently - the head unit is still fine and I've tried another amp which didn't work either - as has the 3 way Electrolux fridge, which used to run when the engine was running or hooked up though we never managed it from the gas as the ignition was knackered.
I bought a load of replacement ceramic fuses in the week assuming it might be something to do with them, but had a look at these earlier and they all seem to be fine. Wondering if the fridge is just knackered, or if the amp might have another power source or something which might be broken. I still need to check all the lights in the back too, they're all off the walls at the moment as we're redecorating the inside...
Sorry this is a bit vague, I'm pretty rubbish with electrics in general admittedly but I've no idea how to go about fixing this, or what might be wrong with it so any suggestions at all would be much appreciated! There's a car electrics specialists not too far away who I might just get to look over it all.
Cheers anyway,
Paddy
