I went out and bought a new toilet tent and a small utility tent both made by Royle and both lovely looking. I put them up today and had quite a few issues with them and ended up having to shorten the flexi poles.

Is this a standard thing with camping equipment or have I bought *5h1t*

Some are ok and some are a bit tight. I can't remember one ever being too big!

Most tent materials stretch or 'blow' in time, but that doesn't help you when you put them up for the first time. I used to borrow a large framed mess tent. When I put it up on Friday evening, I couldn't get the side walls to touch the deck. By Sunday afternoon, the mud flaps were laid out as they should be. Probably stretched 6" or more!
