Can i display my front reg plate at the side of the front bumper? What are the legal options on displaying the plate? Think it would look quite good screwed back on one side of the bumper instead of smack in front of the spare wheel.

Love your LT! There are a few dotted around here in Nottingham. Wish some of the VW mags would feature some more LT's.Tired of seeing endless splits and bays. I've seen great modifications on them. Friend has just done some work on an LT called Tortoise with a great sounding diesel engine. Love your mirrors...where could i get some for my van?

I do beleive under current mot regs that they must be fitted centre and not above 650mm so as the lovely tax machines can read them
as i recently had a plate fail on a van that had passed a year previously that was off centre
your local mot man should be able to give you all the new details better than the police giving you 3 points as they are doing around sussex.

Statutory Instrument 2001 No. 561
The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001
Extract:
This paragraph requires each plate to be fixed -
(a) in a vertical position or, where that is not possible, in a position as close to the vertical as is reasonably practicable, and
(b) in such a position that in normal daylight the characters of the registration mark are easily distinguishable, in the case of a plate fixed on the front of the vehicle, from in front of the vehicle and, in the case of a plate fixed on the rear of the vehicle or trailer, from behind the vehicle or trailer.

Its quite common to offset the numberplate on some new cars, such as Alfas and Mitsubishis.
Even the Police do it so must be allowed!

I did a quick search on here. Putting lt mirrors on a t25 is not a straightforward job, they need some modifying to avoid them sitting at a bit of an angle, more info here:

Syncro mirrors wil go straight on though. Sounds like German ebay is the place to look, but they're not cheap, or easy to locate.

three points omg thats abit harsh and i would challenge that in the courts, the incorrect display of registration offence carries a £60 penalty and no points and its the Vertical plane bit which is important it doesnot matter which side of the front it is displayed on.
Cheers
