This morning I jumped in the bus turned the key and ....nada ..nowt.. zip
empty battery, just 0.11 volts left
What the blithering heck..FFS...rant over, dummy found, set about finding the short circuit.
First recharged the battery with ground disconnected.
reconnect the ground checked the ammeter... jeez 20 amps discharge
No fuses blown
So that narrowed it down to heating, starting circuitry.
Disconnected the Alternator.. still drain
Disconnected the starter, same.
disconnected the manifold heater.. bingo down to 8 amps
Pulled No.1 relay out of the junction box result zero discharge
Checked continuity across relay terminal.. none, so relay good
checked thermo switch on therostat housing.. ah hah wire off and touching
reconnected properly no discharge
may have shagged the battery though
