Ongoing coolant issues....

I've been having loads of problems with the coolant system on my 1.6td (jx), had it pressure tested and some of the core plugs replaced. Was still having problems after all that and I have just noticed a small wet patch under the sliding door, on closer inspection I can see drips of water forming on the underside.

I'm guessing this is the from the pipe that runs from the radiator at the front to the engine at the back. It doesn't look like the most easily accessible area, has anyone got any pointers on where to start looking for the cause of the leak? I have a pocket mechanic manual (peter russek) which does describe the system well but doesn't really related to the location of the pipes etc.

The plastic pipes that run back and forth from the radiator have brass bushings in them at the ends where they are connected. These work themselves loose over the years and creep out of the pipe, resulting in leaks. Some people have had success with pushing them back in, most end up changing the pipes.

To find out where the leak really is you best get under your van properly ..i.e in a pit or on a lift.

Cheers for the posts guys.

Unfortunately I have no access to a lift or a pit, do you think I could do it getting the rear (or front - not at the same time!) up on some axel stands?
