Just come across a van that has the original ABS system in it.

Anyone got any information or technical manuals etc. I can hardly find any info on it at all.

Just wondering what would be involved to retro fit to another van?

limited info as it was very very costly..
You need all the loom, ecu, pump, sensors and trigger wheels/discs, then a set of brake pipes/make them up as you go.. prob need the speedo head or at least the sensor from it too... lots of "embeded" wiring I reckon... a lot of work..

would have to ask the question if it was an option on a syncro? and would it inprove it on the slipery stuff, only ask becouse sally sally land rover felt weard when we had all the snow conpaired to me van. uses the abs as a part of the traction control,

Rear bearing carriers are also different as is the metal sleeve that fits betwixt the bearings.
Front uprights are different, and obviously they have the reluctor wheel stuck on the back of the front hub.
Not worth the hassle of retro fitting in my eyes.

ABS was available on Syncro's it dissables when a difflock is pulled (and below a certain seed IIRC)

Yeah SI.. I was thinking ther bearing housings might be different and the uprights... didnt check on EKTA... lots and lots and lots of work...

IIRC Jeager had a full kit for sale... was on his site for ages.. havent been on for a long time so prob still there...
