Elements are fairly easy to change once you have the fridge out. My local caravan repair man stocks the elements, so I think they are readily available. He says they are always failing.

As said, replacements are available.

the RM212 was a very common but cracking fridge

Ashbridge domestics for heater element. They always come up trumps for me and i have virtually rebuilt my fridge with spares from them.

Does anyone know anywhere to get the catch which holds it shut from? Ashbridge domestics worth a punt I guess?

LOL! The match / twig etc in there at the mo just isn't cutting the mustard, I'll try a tee - won't it be too big though?
