The T3 or T25 or Vanagon ( has that on the badge so will call it that ) I have half paid for has the American digijet engine in it. I have no idea about these and any differences about them compared to the good ol DG engine I had in my old panel van
What are they like and what problems will I hopefully NOT encounter
Cheers
Gal

These are the main problems you WON'T encounter...
Petrol engines intermittent 2.1
if your van and engine rolled out of the factory last year! Otherwise read-on...

Are you buying a van or just the engine?
Either way, any idea if the engine has been rebuilt in the last few years?
Has the engine actually got "GW" stamped on the case?
GW, were the fuel injected 1.9 the americans got up to 1985 when the 2.1 replaced it..
As it has Fi it produces a bit more power than a "DG" but is essentially the same base engine.. The Fi is essentially the same as the 2.1's so not anything different..
If you dont want to use/faulty Fi, then fitting a DG carb and manifold will work fine..

Buying the van. Its a left hooker, has Vanagon on the rear and as it had American spec lights originally and been changed to right handed the side lights are separate and not built into the normal headlamps.
Oh. its registered as a B reg over here
