Hi
Does anyone know who stocks the small square 'plugs' that are used for fixing the front lower grille; or has anybody got any they want to sell.
JK's have them at 81p each plus p&p which seems a bit steep to me or am I being mean.
I took the grille off to spray it and now I can't find the safe place that I put the plugs in so I wouldn't lose them.

Good shout. I need a few of them blighters too.

Lost one down a drain once when I took grill off in the street. Managed to get a used one and now I'm FASTIDIOUS in where I put them and on what kind of ground. I always put them in the dash clocks now as a routine. Think you might have to bite the bullet on the 80-odd pence unless VW still stock them and cheaper?

Check Brickwerks website In the T3 body section Pack of 5 for £2.94 If Its the clips you are talking about.

not hijacking but how do you get these out? im turning the screws and the black clip is just spinning with it!

Are we talking of the same thing. The plugs are square so in theory can't spin. The screw could keep turning though.
Have come up with a solution. Cut 5 pieces of aluminium approx 1'' x 1/2'' Drill to suit a plastic wall plug that is the right diameter to be a comfortable fit in the holes in the bodywork. Put plug (needs to be a tight fit) into alu, offer up grille, insert plug/alu through square holes in grille, put No 6 screw into plug.
I reckon I could have my van towed by a rope attached to the grille now.

yes we are takling about the same thing mate, dont ask how its happened but when i bought the van it was minus the lower grill with the clips still in situ. meaning there is no grill to stop them spinning aroung when i try to undo them via the phillips screw and i nee to get tem out to fit the new gill i've bought.

May just have to drill them out and go with your aluminium idea, thanks.

What about holding the clips with some pliers and then try taking the screw out. The screw has possibly rusted.
You may well then be able to use the clips again.

I brought some from JK along with a new grill. Though I am going to complain about the grill s*** fit!

How do those clips things push in. I've lost one already. I don't think I installed them right.

If theyre the same as the originals then you just press them into the hole mate.

putting the grill on first of course!
