Just filled up at out local Morrisons petrol station (Nottingham) went in to pay and noticed that they have an amazing offer on several Texaco Havoline oils.
5 litre 15W 40 for your petrol engined VW's £4.99 has VW 505.00 spec on the label and
5 litre 15W 40 'Diesel' at £5.49
Now you won't pick up anything branded for less than £12.99 so get yourselves down there quick. This is quality oil for a fiver!

The manager said he thought it was a nation wide offer but didn't know when it was on till.
This is a real bargain guys and now I've had a think about it I'm off back down there tomorrow for 2/3 more.
Also had 10W 40 at £5.49.

Pity their petrol isn't coming down to match it if they can offer it that cheap

That's the strange thing....everyone around here is 119.9 a litre and for some reason Morrisons (Nottm) is 116.9 and the reason I went there in the first place.
But that oil guys is a real bargain....even if you don't need it now it has a long shelf life so will last until you do need it.

Well I was told the offer wasn't just this one Morrisons so it should be available at other branches as well.
But anyway...the Morrisons (Petrol Kiosk) I got this from was Victoria retail park (Netherfield) just down the road from me James (I'm in Carlton).

As a side note...on the container it actually quotes VW spec 505.00

Bought three bottles and gave one to Chickenkoop for running me around this morning. The guy had literally just delivered them and they were stacked up outside in cardboard boxes at Morrisons in Coventry although the diesel version isn't at the same price (cheap but about £8 I think). However, if you check the back of the petrol one, it does state 'suitable for diesels' and apparently the vast majority of oil that isn't specifically marked as diesel is often quite suitable so moral is read the label on the back not the stuff on ther front.

So it's morrisons only offer not texaco?

Cheers Mart. Just picked up 3 cans. At the rate my van drops oil that should last me all week.

Looks like the offer is patchy or at least subject to availability! as Morrisons 'Bulwell Nottm' didn't have any....I'm off back down to Victoria retail park!

for those that can't find this offer Lidl are offering 5 Litres of 15W40 oil at £9.99 from tomorrow..

Not sure if anyone has used this before or if it's any good though?

Just got back from buying two more......
I also noticed that they have 5W/30 'Synthetic' for £8.49 on the same offer...Good for anyone running a modern car.

Yep, I have. Its a good oil and if you read label on back it meets VW spec - hard to beat the Morrisons deal right now though.

WHats the API/ACEA ratings Martin?
