heater hoses

I am going to have to replace the two long rubber hoses which run front to back on my 1990 T.25. The original engine was a 1600 deisel but it has been replaced with an AAZ, though it looks as if the original hoses for cooling and heating were retained. What sort of a job is it? Seen from underneath I have the two large plastic pipes and, clipped to them with cable ties, two smaller diameter rubber ones which, I imagine, are the heater ones. They are beginning to show signs of breaking up, but no leaks as yet. I can see where they go at the engine end but have not yet investigated the front end which I cannot see. Is it necessary to drop the fueltank? Are these hoses the same diameter the whole length - if so will any high pressure hose do? Getting them above the fuel tank looks a bit of a fiddle but, apart from that, it looks straightforward job - is it? I have researched Wikki and the technical archives but there is not much on these hoses but plenty on the coolant ones.
