1.9 WBX isn't happy.
It's just had a carb rebuild and is about to go back as the guys found a compression problem on one cylinder. also just about to have a service.
it was running okay all be it a little lumpy due to the low compression, and would always start. I've just had a new stereo and alarm fitted
but my old battery was on it's way out so it was drained after a couple of days sitting. I changed the battery yesterday, tried to fire it up and although you can here the starter turning it wont fire up. Checked with the stereo guys who fitted the alarm, they reckon it's definitley not the imoberliser as it cuts ignition, so it wouldn't ever turn.
Doubt its fuel starvation as it's had a new fuel tank, clean lines and a carb rebuild not long ago and the fuel filter is clean and full of fuel.. The fuel did look very low although not empty and i put an extra 5 liters in just in case. The carb idle was running a bit to fast when i got back the other day but knowing it was going back in soon, i thought i'd just leave it alone and let the garage sort it..
I'm thinking its ignition, so leads plugs etc but it's just about to have all that changed with the service. Any thing i should try before i buy new plugs?
Thanks in advance
Duff.
