was talking to my mechanic the other day about the same and he said the standard shocks are good for up to 40mm drop, he recommended 30mm as he said this improves the drive and handling no end but doesnt affect the shocks particularly, i'm no expert but he is so i would take his word for it, hope this helps
where did you get the 30mm lowered springs from and how much? looking for the same myself

some caravelles / higher spec vans came with -30 springs from the factory!
standard shocks all round is no problem ,
front bumpstops have one less rib on passenger carring vans over working vans!

I have -30mm AVO springs fitted, but it also now wears a full set of B4 dampers. The difference is awesome mines a hi top westy and it now handles and can cope with high winds. Potholed roads are now handled with ease!!!!!.
If u can id recommend a new set of dampers as well as there bound to be past there best now!!!!!!!!!!!!, Got springs and dampers from brickwerks you cant go wrong!!!!!!!!!!!
