solar powered battery charger

I want to buy a solar powered charger to trickle feed my battery but i don't know which one to buy. Maplins have a 12v 1.5w battery Trickle charger for £9.99 and a 12v 4.8w battery charger for £29.99 which one could anyone recommend and if its the £29.99 one can I leave on when the van is standing for a while as it doesn't say trickle feed

If all you want to do really is to use it as a trickle charger only, then you only need the tiniest bit of power so the cheapo one will do. Save yourself the 20 quid, and start saving up for a proper solar charger, you'll need one that gives at least 60w to be really useful for camping trips.

I've had a 2.4watt panel in mine for over two years, it doesn't really doesn't charge the battery for camping but what it does do is condition the battery, basically preventing it from sulphating when stood for long period.

I have the 1.5w one from Maplins. I noticed the output voltage was reading 24v. Is that correct??
