Hello All,

Had some great advice off you all last year getting the bus road worthy and it was very good to me no breakdowns and generally pretty good!

Seeing as it was so good to me i decided to keep it inside in a local garage over the worst of the winter weather as yet it is not really water tight and still needs quite a bit of work doing.

Now its time to bring it out again and get it ready for the spring/summer season. I have read many things on here telling me not to leave them dormant and not drive them but i've done it now and need to know if there is things to do or not to do when bringing it out of hibernation......

engine service?
oil change?

will be giving it a mini MOT at the local garage before i start driving it again seriously to make sure everything is good but a little advice as usual would be brilliant

I have done the same so some advice to. I am getting a mechanic just to check things over. I had a service last year in August and have only done about 300 miles since. Will probably give it a oil change and clean the air filter etc. Sarted mine up a few days ago and it started first time and ticked over nicely.

Could be useful.

300 miles.in 7 months the oil and filter will be like new.so why bother changing them

I wont bother then. Was thinking it was a bit pointless.
Will just get him checked over.

Are batteries, brakes and tyres all ok?

Condensation.. change the oil...
when laying up a vehicle, you should take it for a jolly good drive to get the engine up to temp and dry it out.. then change the oil..

300 miles of more than likely very short trips will have put a lot of condensation into the engine...

Drop the wheels and check/clean/lubricate the brakes..

Tyre pressures... of course

Whats the battery like? been charged up a couple of times over winter?

I'm probably being a bit dense, but do you mean take it for a run and then change the oil before laying up or after?

Mine has been outdoors on the drive all winter, looking very sorry for itself.
