Hi

Just fitted my shiney new covered door cards in the front of the van, no probs. But when we came to getting the sliding door on things got a little more tricky. We used the JK pre-cut door cards with the JK twist to fit clips. These worked fine for the front and nicly popped in. But the sliding door seems to have slightly deeper recess where the clips go in which means that whatever we tried we couldnt get the clips to pop in.

This includes hitting with a lump hammer with some prtective wood.

Anyone else had these issues or has any advice on gettting the bar-stewards to pop in

I rang JK about the same problem. They said it was difficult to explain over the phone but it should be just push and turn !!
After using pliers then chamferring the hole at one side and breaking a few clips, mine is now fitted with some clips and some self tappers

Yup, exactly the same problem - if you compare the JK clips with original VW ones, you can see that the JK ones are poor copies, slightly but critically different in size - they do not easily twist into the holes in the sliding door card. They also seem to be more brittle.

Ended up using self-tappers, which kind of defeated the point of getting a new door card!

I've got 5 bar ally chequer plate and can only use screws!

I got some of these JK clips. and struggled to install them.
all the questions about the product on the jk website are from me
i absolutely shredded my fingers, then when i went to install in the door, they were so brittle they shattered.
still not got any door cards on yet, especially as the fabric that is folded over the edge is quite thick

i wouldn't fit self tapers it would look messy ! i have just done mine in pink fur god i love my bus
