Can it still be brought? my windscreen is letting in water which I think would be reduced by having the trim in.

YOu can still buy it, VW Heritage sell it by the metre at about £4 a metre but this won't stop the leak best fit a new screen seal altogether about £20 from Just Kampers, the replacement screen seal does not have the fitting for the trim. Type 25 windscreens are notorious for leaking the rubber shrinks over time, if your unlucky rust will have made hole in the frame, get a new rubber to start with that cured my screen problem

I'd try VW dealer first. Got a replacement rubber for my engine lid from somewhere else and it was a disaster. (well a small one) I eventually had to buy from VW so i did the job twice and it did cost twice........

I know there was some firm at Vanfest selling proper rubbers, it wasn't JK, anyone remember?

Cheap seals is false economy; if they're not perfect, they WILL leak and things will corrode. Not worth saving £10 now and it backfiring into a £xxx panel repair in a couple of years' time.
One firm were selling genuine VW seals at Vanfest. Their name escapes me but I blagged their catalogue; I'll have a look tonight and post their contact details.

Sorry for the delay; I've been flu'd up badly enough to lose interest in VWs for a few days
The company is Status VW:
www.status-vw.co.uk , 0870 143 1445.
Front windscreen seal with groove for Deluxe trim = £49.50. Insert to match = £17.50. Both are genuine VW parts.
Hope that helps

Thanks Bling, wont bother with a trimmed rubber, just a normal one, far less hassle and a lot cheaper too! new one for 30, if it stops the leak its not too bad really.
