Im thinking about replacing my 1.9 petrol 89 t25 and my runaround car and buying the above, to use as an everyday vehcle. Just wondered if anyone has any experience of them, fuel consumption, reliability, speed etc? obviously its not going to perform like my audi tdi or be as economical. im looking at spending 8k on one.......anyone got one for sale up north?
cheers

Hi,
I had a 1.6TD panal van and it was great. Used to get about 40mpg. Yours would be a bit less due to weight of interior and whether it has a high top or not. Not the fastest machine but if a 5 speed you do cruise nicely when you get up to speed!!! Good luck.

My girlfriend and I have exactly that as our sole use of transport (Westfalia 1.6TD 1988). While it won't break any speed records it is fun and comfortable to drive, I recommend getting a pop top as high tops aren't really practical round town. You could look for a van with an AAZ conversion which will give you a little more power. The fuel consumption is good (better than the petrol I think).
Any questions give us a shout.
