You could always try a wanted ad in the Wanted Forum and see if Billy numbers or Mick nw_vw have one on a breaker.

I got the pipe from Brickwerks and its a good quality bit of kit, I know its pricey but a 2nd hand one may fail again and you end up doing the same job twice, make sure you register with BW to get your 80-90 discount and if you do go with that pipe because its flexible I found it easier to fit it to the slave before fitting the slave its self as its a bit awkward under there.

vw sells the plastic pipes for about £20 (they are about 2 foot long and connect at the chassis and directly onto the slave cylinder.) the part number is on here somewhere

the full old fashioned method works out very expensive. with flexi hose, bracket and brakes pipe.

E D I T:... from old posts

Ok just spoke to the lady who found my invoice the part number is

251 721 477J which is a variation of the part numbered 35 on the ETKA exploded view diagrams....

get a quote from VW you may be suprised how cheap they are I just got a new water manifold for £29+vat from VW, they were £40 second hand on ebay and £56 at just kampers.

That's odd 'cos they were obsolete from VW.

the plastic pipe may well be obsolete now, hang on I will give em a call.......

yeah unlucky obsolete since 2008 :( :( better make sure I dont knacker my one up now I suppose. The parts man was very sad about it though. and if you get a pipe made buy pirton (<- or whoever) it will cost you at least £40.

Do you know, I swear folks think we post here for the fun of it .... makes you wonder why we bother sometimes.

I said Brickwerks sold them for a reason. :|

that is right you did say that but the original poster was wondering if anyone else sold them for their original cost £18-£20.

it doesn't sound like they do, so he will have to pay the £50 or whatever he has been quoted, I am sure brickwerks sold them for £20 when vw still stocked them.

Nope, Simon realised that there was an item we were needing that had fell off the end at VW and looked into having some made specially. If you've ever looked into commissioning a part to be remanufactured (AND guaranteed) then you'd realise that actually he was not only helping himself in his workshop but also doing US a favour. And as for the cost .... spend £50 or whatever he charges for an obsolete part or park your van up, the choice is yours.

There seems to be quite a few of the deep pocketed and hard of thinking buying these 20 year old vans and thinking they can go to Halfords for everything for them ..... it's NOT a 2007 Corsa folks

Ian.
