Campervan Sound/Heat Insulation Confusion

Ok

I'm gonna soundproof and insulate my panel van prior to having a 1z fitted, wanna do it myself as much as possible as the engine is gonna be pricey. I've searched a lot on this and other forums but my specific questions never quite get answered.....

Do I apply sound proofing material first directly to the floor/door skins/side panels/roof and cover the whole area? If so what about waxoyling first- will this material eg dynamat stick to a waxoyled surface?

Is it then better to stick heat insulating material eg thermawrap to the back of ply lining/door panels before lining and carpeting the van?

One company has suggested their eggbox profile acoustic foam for the roof but has admitted that this material is moisture-absorbent.....bad idea?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Jock

Jock, There is loads of stuff in Wiki: https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Bo ... Insulation" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and of you search the Modified Forum for "insulation" there is a lot of other stuff.

Neil.
