I've had my new van for a week now and would like to get started on a bit of bodywork touching up. I was thinking of having a look at rustoleum as not having to prime it 1st is very tempting. Is it possible to get it mixed to max my existing paint? (well near enough) The van's a 1980 Westfalia in Ivory.

I 'm really after an option that will provide the easiest satisfactory results on a few little scratches that have started to rust. I don't need it to be perfect as the paint is old and tired anyway but can't afford a respray for at least another year.

have a look at the RAL chart on their website, I then contacted lawsons who did me 1l for £12 plus VAt with £11 shipping upto 20L. Not sure about a paint match, but probably not far off.

Failing that, most paint shops should be able to colour match, but will obviously need to see the vehicle or something painted the colour you want. This might take a while though.

the colour of your van is elfenbein weiss or ivory white in english. i know this as i also have one and the RAL code for the paint is 1015 ,i bought some the other week for mine and although it is a close match it is'nt spot on i would say one or 2 shades too light .but hey ho its cheap enough to just do the complete van and the colour difference is'nt that noticeable that you would really see any difference around the door shutsand tailgate unless you were really picky. hope this helps.
