A good idea or not? Did all twin sliders have a bulkhead for bodyshell stiffness or were there walk-through models too? Question is - should I drill out the spot welds or not?

Factory one? In that case I will - figure it will be more saleable? Then again, maybe I'll put a unit across the van as is and knock it out this summer. It's got curtains already - half way there!

I've got a twin slider with a bulkhead, but the previous owner cut a big chunk out of it for some reason. We're removing it with a grinder, but going to replace it with a bar to support the bench seat in the front. I'll probably put units there eventually, so not too bothered about the walk-through.

Yup indeed. It is a good place to put units though with a twin slider.

Hello twin sliders,

I've also been contemplating what to do with the back of my van. I've still got bulkhead in, have you seen (or got) any good ideas on twin slider camper/dayvan layouts?

I'm just getting to the end of getting mine reengined and mot'd now I've got to start thinking about making it useable as a weekend away van for me and the missus.

All sugestions gratefully received :-)

Put a big unit straight across behind the front seats and then a pair of "pannier" boxes/wardrobes either side of the engine hatch.
You'll get more storage than with a Westy side unit (1.5 metres across the van, only 1.2 from battery box to rear bench - and you don't get to use all of that if you want a full-width rock and roller...
Heresy, I know :D
